ABOUT US

Why BestShoelaces.com Exists
Shoelaces are the most overlooked part of any shoe. The wrong lace snaps mid-run, slips loose during your workday, or makes a premium sneaker look cheap. We started BestShoelaces.com to fix that — giving you clear, expert-backed guidance so every pair of shoes looks and performs its best.
About the Founder
Ishtiaq Khan
FOUNDER · SEO EXPERT · FOOTWEAR ENTHUSIAST
I’m Ishtiaq — a 37-year-old digital marketing and SEO specialist with a background in software engineering. I launched BestShoelaces.com after years of frustration: finding the right shoelace shouldn’t require hours of research and dozens of Amazon rabbit holes.
With over 3 years of dedicated focus on footwear accessories, I’ve personally tested, measured, and stress-tested hundreds of shoelaces across every category — from flat waxed laces for Oxford shoes to heavy-duty Kevlar boot laces. My software engineering background means I apply systematic, data-driven thinking to every product evaluation.
My goal is simple: give you the clearest possible answer to “which shoelace should I buy?” — backed by real evidence, not affiliate pressure.

How We Review & Recommend Shoelaces

Every guide and review on BestShoelaces.com follows a strict evaluation process. Here’s exactly how we work
We map the full landscape of available products in each shoelace category — sneaker, boot, dress, athletic, elastic, and novelty — before selecting candidates for review.
We examine fiber composition (cotton, polyester, waxed, nylon, Kevlar), weave tightness, aglet quality, and stated length accuracy against physical measurement.
Laces are worn on real shoes across multiple activities over 2–6 weeks. We track fraying, colour fading, knot slippage, and aglet integrity under normal use conditions.
We evaluate price relative to longevity, aesthetics, and availability. A premium lace that lasts three times longer at 1.5× the price is better value — we do the maths so you don’t have to.
Reviews are revisited at least annually, or whenever a product is discontinued, reformulated, or significantly repriced. You’ll always see the date a guide was last verified.
